- Mineral Engine Oil
Mineral Engine Oil is the crudest oil out of all four types. It is the refined petroleumwhich has to undergo chemical treatment for functioning under an extensive temperature range. It costs the least as compared to the other three types of Engine Oils. These days, it is mostly used in older vehicles.
The disadvantage of Mineral Oil over the other three varieties is that it offers lesser lubrication as well as protection against the friction-induced heat. Its efficiency is lowered when used in cooler temperature zones. Mineral Oil is much more susceptible to a breakdown at high-temperature usage. It also requires replacement frequently to ensure smooth running of the vehicle.
- Fully Synthetic Oil
This type is the most advanced in Engine Oil Technology. It ensures higher fuel efficiency and better protection to the engine.
Fully Synthetic Engine Oils undergo extensive treatments in laboratories. The process leads to break down of Mineral Oil to its most basic components. This makes Fully Synthetic Oil vastly superior to its counterparts. It helps to remove the impurities present in the crude Mineral Oil. It offers better lubrication due to the consistency in the size and shape of the molecules. Fully Synthetic Oils do not face any difference in functionality irrespective of the temperature during its usage or the stress levels.
Since Fully Synthetic Oils must undergo extensive processing, this makes them significantly costlier as compared to the other types.

- Semi-Synthetic Oil
Semi-Synthetic Oil is also called Synthetic Blend Oil as it is made by mixing a small quantity of Synthetic Engine Oil with Mineral Oil. Adding Fully Synthetic Engine oil increases wear resistance as well as the viscosity at higher stress levels and temperatures. It provides thrice the protection as compared to Mineral Engine Oil. But it doesn’t protect the engine to the extent of Fully Synthetic Engine Oil.

- High Mileage Oil
